Bibbiano is located in the historical Chianti area, an area where the grapes were first cultivated by the Etruscans and, subsequently, in the late Roman period.
Since 1865, the family has continued the tradition of this immeasurable natural and human legacy by cultivating their vineyards and olive groves with passion and making them both current and modern. Handing down an entrepreneurial tradition from parent to child has now reached the fifth generation, embodied by Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi.
Surrounded by large olive groves with over 3,000 trees, the Bibbiano vineyards stretch over a total surface area of about 30 hectares between 270 and 310 meters above sea level, set on hilly slopes.
We carefully select the grapes during the harvest, which is still carried out by hand, and vinify individual crus from the different slopes separately. Each year we give a natural expression to our terroir and its unique characteristics, ampelographic and viticultural resources while respecting the desired balance between modernity, tradition, and the history of this place.
